Barcoding Inc. Expands its CaptureTech Division
through
Acquisition of AcuityID
Baltimore, MD August 25, 2006 – Baltimore-based CaptureTech, a division of Barcoding Inc., announced today that it has acquired Acuity ID LLC, an RFID technology company. This acquisition will provide a key component to expand CaptureTech's line of RFID products and services. CaptureTech will incorporate all the employees of Acuity ID at CaptureTech's headquarters location in Baltimore, MD.
Bill Paulson, the former Acuity ID president, is happy to be working with Barcoding to continue the growth of its CaptureTech division. “At Acuity ID we had a great idea and product. Now that we are teamed with a leader in the auto id industry, we will be able to offer the same services under the banner of Barcoding’s well earned reputation for excellence.”
The expansion of CaptureTech in North America will also enhance Barcoding’s European operations, which have been running under in the Netherlands since 1999. CaptureTech’s emergence in the US market will give CaptureTech a global brand appeal, offering solutions on both continents.
CaptureTech’s first world-wide product launch will be the Active Shelf ™ inventory tracking system. The BGN Bookshop in the Netherlands is the first to install this revolutionary system, which tracks inventory at all times by using the shelves themselves as RFID readers. In the long run, this will make businesses much more profitable and efficient as by saving the labor of taking inventory.
In addition to the Active Shelf ™ product, CaptureTech currently offers three RFID kits to both the European and North American markets; one for compliance, one for experimentation, and one for RFID readiness.
